DC-based Lat is well-known by the on-line Law & Gossip crowd as the former judicial clerk/former corporate atty/former AUSA, who blogged his way into a new career with his runaway hit, AboveTheLaw. Corey Johnson may be recognizable to you (if you click on the photo) as the "young gay superstar" (Hotline's hyperbole). Johnson moved to D.C. last year to work for the DNC. He became famous as the highschool football player who came out to his teammates in the locker room. Post-production editing is still on-going for TT&T, a documentary on gay/lesbian binational couples, directed by extraordinary Argentinean film maker, Sebastian Cordoba (I am co-producer).
Tonight we had an opportunity to view a near final cut of the film, and savored Sebastian's delicious empanadas and Malbec wine. The film is being readied for submission to film festivals and we are hopeful that it will reach a wide audience. With the Congress soon to take up some very thorny immigration law reform, same-sex binational couples are, more than ever, advocating passage of the Uniting American Families Act, which would allow gay/lesbian U.S. citizens to sponsor their same-sex partners much like their straight counterparts sponsor their spouses.
