The Dads-to-be (who actually DO live in Chelsea)
Call it tony, “quaint” décor, or call it stiff and sedate, but this is definitely not Chelsea or the East Village. This is the bastion of more conservative tastes, once the haunt of more discreet and closeted older gay men. And now, babies. And it wasn't only the couple being fêted! I heard others talking about their surrogates, their twins, their nannies, and on, and on. I asked a lot of questions about strollers, child care, baby car seats, night feeding, etc. My law partner's sister, Michele, who is a colleague of one of the Dads-to-be, had invited me to join her, and I am so glad that I braved the driving rain. It was well worth it.
